Last Month

In October we were able to celebrate the taste and culture of Nigeria with a delicious meal and a local performance!

What's Happening This Month

We will be continuing our Building Bridges for its last month. If you haven’t attended any of the programs yet be sure to see one before it’s done, did we mention there are cookies?

As it is November, we want to take a moment to thank all of the brave men and women that have fought and continue to fight for our safety and for this country. We keep this day dear to our hearts and will not forget the ultimate sacrifice countless Canadians have made for us. Be sure to support our veterans this year by purchasing a poppy and taking two minutes of silence on November 11.

Upcoming Programs

We are in our last month for the Building Cultural Bridges as we have added on new dates. Each week there are more members of the community joining us, so to be sure to come early for a good seat. The program starts at 7:30 every Wednesday until November 22th.

Our newest program is Info with an Officer, aimed towards immigrants or new Canadian citizens, but everyone is welcome to join! Feel comfortable in a safe environment to have your questions answered by police officers and legal experts. This will run every Tuesday from October 3 until November 28.

November Taste of

This month we will be having two amazing dinners that we hope you can be a part of!

  • On November 10th we will be exploring the tastes and culture of Argentina with a great dinner, tango performance, and a quick tango class to teach you the basics! After that it’s all partying, so be sure to pack your dancing shoes!
  • November 24th will be all about Ecuador and the traditional foods and music it has to offer. There will be a delicious dinner and cultural performances.

Coming Up in December

This December we are having two free events back to back!

  • December 15 will be our second annual Christmas around the world where we will have cookie decorating, live performances, crafts, and hot chocolate! Don’t forget that Santa will also be attending, so you better be good! Different cultural groups will be able to showcase what Christmas means to them in their culture, so if you are interested in learning about traditions then this is the event to go to!
  • On December 16 we will be having our 19th Annual Community Christmas Dinner! All are invited to have a warm place to enjoy a delicious meal and spend time with friends. Spread the joy, and while you’re at it you may as well spread the word too.
