Last Month

Last Month we had a ton of great events! Taste of Columbia was filled with wonderful cultural performances, along with an amazing Columbian meal. We also had a great Black History month event that was a huge success! Lastly, we had some of our free weekly Building Bridges sessions covering various topics such as North American Slavery and Nepalese Culture. Thank you to everyone who came out to support these events!

What's Happening This Month

This month we will be hosting various Immigration workshops offered my Mark Holthe of Stringam LLP. Come out March 7th and 28th to learn about the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, along with Humanitarian and Compassionate Applications. Need help with taxes? We will be partnering up with PTA Accounting to assist with your taxes this year. Please call or email to book an appointment!

Upcoming Programs

We’ve got a few great programs coming up this month and next! 

Building Cultural Bridges has been a huge success, and with the amount of interest we have decided to offer free weekly spring sessions starting April 9th until June 4th. Topics include Mennonite, Buddhist, Hutterite, and many others! Don’t miss out!

Mark Holthe from LLP Stingam and Southern Alberta Ethnic Association are teaming up to host free Immigration Workshops. Each week will include a different subject The workshops will be as listed:

March 7th –  Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program
March 28th –  Humanitarian and Compassionate Applications
April 11th – Citizenship
April 18th – Labor Market Impact Assessment

We will also be offering assistance with Tax preparation in partner with PTA Accounting. There will be sessions offered March 28th, and April 27th from 6-10pm. Assistance will be free to Immigrants, students, seniors, and those with financial difficulties 

March's Taste of

On March 23rd we will be celebrating all things Nicaraguan at our Taste of Nicaragua! There will be traditional foods, as well as cultural performances by the Nicaraguan dance group and DJ Tizio. Tickets are available on our website or in the office during business hours, make sure you don’t miss this awesome event!


Coming Up in April

Join us on April 27th to celebrate Caribbean food, heritage and tradition with our Taste of the Caribbean! There will be an authentic meal with dessert, as well as a chance to learn about the history and culture of the Caribbean. Gluten free and vegetarian meal options also available. Tickets can be purchased online or in our office during business hours. In April, we will also be starting up our Building Bridges Sessions again. Join us for our weekly spring sessions to learn about new cultures and religions! Lastly, we will have our last two Immigration workshops offered by Mark Holthe on Citizenship and Labor Market Impact Assessments! We hope to see you there!

Membership Information

In order to be a part of our organization, membership applications can be filled out as an individual, which costs $25 a year, or a group, which costs $50 a year.
